We offer the option to take part in the RAD Ballet Examinations each year. It is important to stress that these Exams are totally optional, and choosing to take part in the RAD Ballet exams does come with an expectation that students work towards obtaining a certain standard throughout the year. For this reason not every child is capable of sitting these exams. Students must attend a minimum of 2 Ballet classes per week to be eligible to take part. Your teacher will also give guidance as to the students readiness to sit the exam.
Students from the school also attend Easter Ballet seminars each year as a final push for the Ballet exams usually held around May each year. Students are also encouraged to have a few Private Lessons just prior to their exams for some more one on one work to strive to achieve the best possible mark. Perfect grooming including a new leotard, new shoes and stockings as well as the character shoes and skirt are also all required and must be of the highest standard.
Exams are encouraged so that students strive to achieve goals. The exams once completed, help a child work thru their years of dance, and may help them in further years to come should they wish to teach.
