HDF Modern/Contempory classes are a mix of Lyrical and Contemporary work. Our specialist teachers guide students in the most current movements in these dance fields and the meaning behind how the body moves and the expression it conveys. This class has a strong technique base and perfectly compliments your classical class or vise versa. Here at HDF it is one of our strongest classes with excellent results at our local eisteddfods from Troupes and Soloists.

Students enjoy this class because whilst it maintains the technique and classical discipline it is a more “free” movement of the body with a strong focus on portraying a story or theme. It is also a great extension class for students wanting to improve their strength and flexibility. Students are encouraged to attend this class to prepare their bodies for the strength required in Pointe.
